Ian Etheredge

Ian Etheredge, Ph.D., currently serves as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Cinemo since November 2020. Previously, Ian was a Ph.D. Candidate at the Max Planck Institute and the University of Konstanz from August 2016 to November 2020, focusing on developing self-supervised generative deep learning models and using statistical physics to analyze behavioral time-series. Ian's earlier experience includes a role as a Research Engineering Scientist at The University of Texas at Austin, where automation of data collection and development of visualization tools were key responsibilities. Prior to that, Ian worked as a Field Biologist in Hawaii, conducting expeditions and applying computer vision analysis to morphometric data. Initial career roles include management at Tiff's Treats and coordination of lab tests and patient transfers at a medical center. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin, earned between 2007 and 2010.
