JOB TITLE: Packaging Engineer
LOCATION: Mossville, IL
ON SITE/HYBRID/REMOTE: On site
SALARY: $67,000-71,000

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • Delivering a positive customer experience with each engagement/touch point. Classifying captured DSS events. Following appropriate escalation processes and customer notification procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical task breakdown:
The Packaging Engineer will work to provide engineered solutions to preserve part integrity through warehousing and production processes.

  • Collaboration with suppliers to provide engineered packaging solutions
  • Collaboration with internal process partners to provide engineered packaging solutions
  • Design packaging solutions in Kreo or other modeling software
  • Document packaging specifications
  • Analyze business plans and proposals to provide cost effective solutions

Interaction with team:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and engage with process partners

  • Ability to receive voice of the customer to develop solutions to solve business challenges

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Discipline in Packaging Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain, or Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and 2-4 years’ experience.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.

• Team player and detail oriented.

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.

• Advanced ability to perform details calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.

• Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

• Advanced ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.

• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
