Shawn Xu

Shawn Xu, CPA, currently serves as a Senior Examiner at CIRO / OCRI since 2023. Prior to this role, Shawn held the position of Senior Auditor at the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario from 2019 to 2023, where extensive audit services were provided for large public sector entities and corporations across various sectors, leading to systematic recommendations for improvement. Previous experience includes a Financial Analyst role at Manulife Asset Management in 2017, focusing on system integration and investment data analysis, as well as positions as Staff Accountant at Palmer Reed and Deloitte China, and a Cost Control Intern at CITIC Pacific Mining. Shawn obtained a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Accounting & Financial Management with a minor in Economics from the University of Waterloo, completing academic studies in 2018.
