Senior Customer Content Specialist at Cision

Emily Gielink has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Emily started their career as a Reporter for The BG News in 2016. Emily then became an Office Assistant at the Optimal Aging Institute, where they crafted news releases, contacted clients, and assisted in event planning. In 2017, they interned at the BGSU School of Media & Communication.

From 2016 to 2017, Emily was a participant in Falcon Communications, a branch of the Bowling Green State University PRSSA chapter. In this role, they worked with groups to create public relations proposals for non-profit organizations and pitched ideas to clients such as Sunshine Communities and Claire's Day.

In 2018, Emily served as a PR Consultant for the United Way of Greater Toledo. Emily then became a Social Media Coordinator for the BGSU Chapter of PRSSA, managing their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts to promote events and keep members informed.

Emily also gained experience outside of academia, working as a Social Media Manager Intern at Simply Tieranie in 2019. There, they planned and scheduled social media posts, interacted with users, wrote blog posts, and pitched story ideas. Emily also worked as a Social Media and Event Coordinator for Your Local Girl Gang Cleveland, where they created content, managed social media accounts, crafted tweets, and planned events.

Currently, Emily works at Cision, starting as an Associate Customer Content Specialist in 2019 and progressing to a Senior Customer Content Specialist role.

Emily Gielink completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, specializing in public relations, from Bowling Green State University. Emily attended this university from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Cuyahoga Community College from 2013 to 2016, though no specific degree or field of study was provided for this period.
