Mark Lowe

VP Data Platform at Cision

Mark Lowe has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mark is currently serving as the VP Engineering for Data Science, Analytics, and Insights at Cision since June 2021.

Prior to that, Mark worked at Valassis as a Distinguished Data Scientist from January 2018 to May 2021. In this role, they played a key role in the sale of MaxPoint to Vericast and led integrations between different portfolio companies. Mark also led the Data Science organization across the portfolio companies.

Before joining Valassis, Mark served at MaxPoint for a decade starting from 2010. During their tenure, they held multiple senior roles, including Senior Director of Data Science and Senior Manager of R&D Analytics. Mark grew the Data Science team, developed integration models, and led the creation of a Data Science big data platform. Mark was also involved in building machine learning models, inventing multiple patents, and managing research grants.

Early in their career, Mark worked at the Internal Revenue Service as a Senior Economist from 2004 to 2010. Mark contributed to corporate tax research, designed statistical studies, and played a pivotal role in developing the corporate e-file data system.

Mark Lowe earned a Masters degree in Applied Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, which they completed between 2007 and 2009.
