Jie Qian

Jie Qian has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and technology. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Process Engineer at YanFeng Plastic Omnium for two years. In 2016, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where they focused on wifi-based indoor localization and media text semantic recognition. From 2018 to 2019, Jie Qian was a Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Salezoom, Inc, responsible for backend software engineering, devops/infrastructure setup, and code review. In 2019, they joined Aura as a Software Engineer, working on legacy systems and k8s orchestration. Later, in 2020, Jie Qian joined Tencent America as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and Tech/Team Lead. Their most recent position, starting in 2022, is with Citadel Securities as a Site Reliability Engineer.

Jie Qian holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from UMass Boston, which was obtained between the years 2015 and 2017. Prior to this, Jie Qian completed a Bachelor's degree in Air Transportation at Shanghai University of Engineering Science, which spanned from 2007 to 2012.
