Senior Software Engineer at Citadel Securities

Robert Shteynfeld has extensive work experience in the finance and technology industry. Robert is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Citadel Securities since August 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Quadeye Trading LLC as a Portfolio Manager from September 2013 to July 2019.

Earlier in their career, Robert worked at Merrill Lynch as an Executive Director in various roles. Robert was a part of the Quantitative Strategies Group, where they researched and implemented a market making strategy. Robert also worked as the Executive Director of Automated Market Making, where they successfully improved the profitability of the business by reducing slippage costs and latency. Additionally, they managed the Smart Order Router (SORT) product development as the Executive Director of Global Equity Product Development.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, Robert worked at Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director of Equity Trading Systems and the Head of Algo Development & Integration. Robert led a team responsible for the Morgan Stanley Benchmark eXecution Strategies (BXS) platform, which is a leading algorithmic trading and crossing engine.

Robert also gained experience at Two Sigma as a Software Engineer and D. E. Shaw & Co. as a Software Developer. Robert started their career at Merrill Lynch as a Senior Systems Specialist and later worked at Columbia University and JYACC Inc. in various programming and systems administration roles.

Throughout their career, Robert has shown expertise in software development, algorithmic trading, market making, and electronic trading product development.

Robert Shteynfeld completed their education in Computer Science, earning both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degree from Columbia University. This educational journey took place between 1991 and 1997.
