Jacqui Dean Day began their work experience in 1992 as an HR Officer at Smith and Nephew, where they worked until 1998. Jacqui then joined Shepherd Construction Ltd in 1998 and held various roles, including Regional HR Manager and HR Consultant, until 2009. In 2009, they became a SHE Advisor at Shepherd Construction Ltd, where they provided guidance and support for safety, health, and environmental activities in construction projects. Jacqui was also responsible for the occupational health strategy and governance. From 2016 to 2021, Jacqui worked as a Lecturer in Construction and the Built Environment at Selby College. Currently, since August 2021, they serve as a Senior HSE Technical Developer at CITB.

From 2006 to 2008, Jacqui Dean Day attended Loughborough University, where they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma and MSc in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
In 2012, they attended UTN Training Centre in Wakefield and completed the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) - Construction Certificate, specializing in Health and Safety.
Between 1996 and 1999, Jacqui Dean Day studied at Leeds Beckett University and earned a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Personnel Development.
From 2016 to 2018, they pursued further education at The University of Huddersfield, where they achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) focused on Teaching in Further Education.
