Dr. Kate Harrison is a Senior Policy Researcher at Citizens Advice, leading a research workstream focused on welfare conditionality and sanctions since March 2023. Previously, Dr. Harrison served as Lead Researcher at Demos from February 2022 to March 2023, where responsibilities included designing research, writing reports, and client engagement. Dr. Harrison holds a PhD from the University of Southampton, awarded through the South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership, with research examining the impact of austerity on political participation. Additional experience includes teaching public policy at King's College London, conducting research at the Centre for Towns, serving as Private Secretary at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and various roles in customer service and administration. Dr. Harrison earned a Master’s Degree in Governance and Policy from the University of Southampton and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from the University of Warwick.
