Shawn McCarthy

Shawn McCarthy is a seasoned IT management professional with extensive experience in risk oversight, governance, and information security. Currently serving as Senior Manager of IT Risk Oversight at Citizens since January 2023, Shawn previously held the position of Director of IT Governance, Risk, and Information Security at State Street Global Advisors from 2008 to March 2022. In this role, Shawn managed a team overseeing various functions related to IT risk and governance, while also acting as Chief Information Security Officer. Prior to that, Shawn worked at State Street Corporation from 1997 to 2007, advancing to the role of Vice President in Executive Operations and Strategy, where contributions included strategic planning and cost leadership initiatives. Shawn also served as Vice President and Infrastructure Manager, leading a team to deliver infrastructure services across multiple locations. Educational qualifications include an MBA with a concentration in Management Leadership from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business and a BS in Economics with a minor in Financial Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
