Jason Vahling (He/His)

Director Of Public Health And Environment at City and County of Broomfield

Jason Vahling has over 20 years of experience in public health and environmental management. Jason served as the Director of Public Health and Environment for the City and County of Broomfield, where they were responsible for planning, implementing, and managing various public health programs. Prior to that, Jason worked as a Senior Project Manager at Spark Policy Institute, where they collaborated with nonprofits, foundations, policymakers, and communities to find solutions to complex problems. Jason also held several leadership roles at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, including Branch Director and Unit Director, where they managed budgets, implemented comprehensive chronic disease prevention programs, and led nationally recognized tobacco control initiatives. In addition, Jason worked at the El Paso County Department of Public Health and Environment as a Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership Program Specialist, and at the Larimer County Department of Public Health and Environment as an Environmental Health Specialist.

Jason Vahling completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science (Sports Medicine) from Colorado State University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Jason then pursued their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree with a focus on Community Engagement and Health Promotion at the University of Northern Colorado from 1997 to 1999.
