Becca L.

Becca L. is a data scientist and data engineer at the City and County of San Francisco since December 2022, focusing on SF Planning. Previously, Becca held the position of data labeler at Scale AI, evaluating the logic of the GPT-3 Math model. Prior experience includes working as a scientific programmer at NASA, where Becca conducted experiments on volcanic eruptions and analyzed CMIP6 GISS models, and serving as a radio telescope observer for the AuScope VLBI Project at the University of Tasmania. Additional roles include visiting research student at Simon Fraser University, studying glacier thickness, and research assistant at NASA, where Becca explored machine learning applications in the ocean carbon cycle. Becca holds a Master's degree in Research in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Tasmania and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Columbia Engineering.
