Derek Braun

Derek Braun is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in urban planning and economics. Since June 2008, Derek has served as Principal at Strategic Economics, where leadership and expertise in economic development are prominent. Additionally, Derek has held the position of Planning Commissioner for the City and County of San Francisco since September 2022. Prior experiences include internships at JWA Urban Consultants, Inc. and the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles in 2007, as well as serving as an Admission Counselor at Case Western Reserve University from 2005 to 2006. Educational credentials include a Master of Planning in Economic Development from the University of Southern California, earned between 2006 and 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Case Western Reserve University, completed in 2005.
