Kate Reed has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kate has held various roles in different organizations. Their most recent position was as the Head of Hub at City & Islington College starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc) where they held roles such as Head of Student Engagement and Participation from September 2020 onwards and Student Development Manager from September 2013 to August 2020. Kate also served as a Governor at Park Primary School from December 2012 to December 2015. Before that, Kate worked as a Lecturer in Youth and Community Work at YMCA George Williams College from September 2008 to August 2013. Kate was also a Participation & Inclusion Consultant at The Children's Society from May 2007 to August 2008. Additionally, they worked at Hackney Marsh Partnership as Children's & Young People's Manager (Interim Deputy CEO) from September 2003 to May 2007. Prior to that, Kate served as a Youth Project Manager at Hanley Crouch Community Centre from August 2001 to January 2003 and as a Youth Worker/Tutor at Five Bridges School from September 1999 to August 2001. Kate began their career as an Outreach Worker at Fairbridge from May 1998 to September 1999 and as a Volunteer/Trainer at Health Projects Abroad from September 1997 to September 1999, where they lived and worked in rural villages in Tanzania and delivered training programs.
Kate Reed has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Humanities from the University of Brighton, which they obtained from 1993 to 1996. From 1999 to 2001, they pursued a Diploma in Higher Education (Dip HE) in Informal and Community Education/Youth and Community Work at YMCA George Williams College. Lastly, from 2009 to 2011, they studied at City, University of London, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology.
