Makaiya Snead is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Democracy Fellow at NAACP and as a Graduate Assistant for Sisterhood Scholars at Eastern Michigan University. In addition, Makaiya holds the position of Director of Operations at the Civil Rights & Social Justice Center and works as a Voter Participation Specialist for the City of Ann Arbor. Previous experience includes an internship at the Washtenaw County Public Defender and serving as a Pre Law Student Representative for the National Black Law Students Association. Makaiya has also contributed as a Customer Support Specialist at Plato's Closet and as a Student Organization Student Assistant at Eastern Michigan University, where key accomplishments include restructuring the academic judicial checks process. Additionally, experience includes working as a Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Assistant for the City of Detroit. Makaiya is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government alongside a Master's Degree in Public Administration at Eastern Michigan University.
