Michael Winkler is an accomplished energy professional with extensive experience in energy analysis and community leadership. Currently serving as a Partner and Energy Analyst at Redwood Energy since May 2011, Michael specializes in Title 24 energy modeling, HERS verification, and utility allowance analysis for low-income housing. Additionally, since December 2016, Michael has held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors at Redwood Coast Energy Authority, overseeing critical energy initiatives for Humboldt County, California. Michael's commitment to public service is evident through a long tenure on the Arcata City Council, including roles as Mayor and Vice Mayor. Earlier in Michael's career, notable positions included Energy Research Engineer at Schatz Energy Research Center and founder of the Humboldt Energy Independence Fund. Michael holds a B.S. in Environmental Resources Engineering from Humboldt State University, a Certificate in Energy Management and Design from Sonoma State University, and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
