Tim McCain

Tim McCain, CISM, CIPM, has extensive experience in information security and risk management. Tim has held positions such as Chief Information Security Officer at the City of Aurora, where they were responsible for program operations, budgeting, and strategy. Tim also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at the Community College of Aurora. Prior to that, Tim was a Manager of IT Risk Management at Grant Thornton LLP, where they focused on client engagement and contract review. Tim has also held roles at Welltok, Inc., the University of Colorado, Transcom, the Colorado School of Public Health, NexGen Technologies, Inc., UC Denver, and the Colorado Immunization Information System. Throughout their career, Tim has demonstrated expertise in regulatory and security governance, policy development, vendor risk management, and compliance.

Tim McCain, CISM, CIPM, holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Tim obtained their Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in 2008 and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2015.
