Courtney O'Donnell

Courtney O'Donnell has a diverse and extensive work experience. Most recently, they have held the position of Assistant City Manager/Human Resources Director at the City of Bangor since April 2021. In this role, they oversee the local transit system and manages HR functions for a workforce of approximately 600 employees.

From 2019 to 2020, Courtney served as the Town Manager of Casco, where they modernized accounting and budgeting systems, improved internal procedures, and implemented town social media communication.

Prior to that, they were the Town Manager, Tax Collector, Treasurer, and Road Commissioner for the Town of Stockton Springs from 2017 to 2019. Courtney worked closely with a small staff to provide valuable services to citizens, developed policies, and educated staff.

Courtney's experience also includes working as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Bangor from 2015 to 2017, providing support to city officials and managing functions related to purchasing, contracts, and regulations.

Before joining the public sector, they worked as an Unemployment Insurance Consultant at Equifax Workforce Solutions, where they handled unemployment claims for nonprofits and municipalities.

Courtney began their career as an Administrative Assistant at The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter from 2011 to 2014. Courtney took on increasing responsibilities during their time there, managing various duties including HR, volunteer coordination, donor relations, and social media management.

Courtney O'Donnell pursued their education by completing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Administration from the University of Maine. Courtney later enrolled at Husson University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Organizational Management. Additionally, in 2013, they also attended the Bangor Region Leadership Institute, although no degree or field of study information is provided.
