Beaumont is a full-service municipality, and serves as the county seat for Jefferson County. Beaumont operates under a council-manager system of government, in which the elected, part-time council appoints a city manager, who acts as the chief executive officer for city affairs. The City Council meets every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the 1st floor of City Hall, 801 Main Street. Council member offices are located on the 3rd floor of City Hall in Suite 300. Meetings are televised on Time Warner Cable Channel 4 Wednesday through Sunday at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
