The City of Binghamton was founded at the confluence of two great rivers, the Chenango and Susquehanna, and has long been home to opportunity, innovation and vibrant culture.

Binghamton University’s high-tech business incubator and University Downtown Center, which is home to the College of Community and Public Affairs, are anchor educational centers in the region.

A monthly First Friday Art Walk brings visitors through downtown’s ever-expanding network of art galleries and often into the many new restaurants that have made Binghamton a food destination in recent years. Binghamton was the childhood home of Rod Serling, famed American screenwriter, producer and creator of The Twilight Zone.

Binghamton also boasts cultural institutions like the Ross Park Zoo — the fifth-oldest zoo in America — and the adjacent Discovery Center that make our City a major family destination. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, a Minor League Baseball affiliate of the New York Mets, provide entertainment for sports fans of all ages.
