Alex Taranu

Alex Taranu is a highly experienced professional in urban design, currently serving as Senior Advisor, Urban Design at the City of Brampton since September 2016. Taranu has held various influential roles, including Urban and Architectural Design Advisor for Urban Design Review Panels, and has been a Fellow at the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Planners since 2016 and 2011, respectively. As a founding member of the Council for Canadian Urbanism's Board of Directors and an active participant in national and international conferences, Taranu contributes significantly to the field through presentations and courses. Previous positions include Manager of Architectural Design and Urban Design and Public Buildings at the City of Brampton, as well as Senior Planner for Urban Design in Markham and Senior Urban Designer at IBI Group. Taranu possesses a Master's Degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Architecture and Urbanism Ion Mincu Bucharest.
