John Spencer has extensive experience in park planning and development, with a career spanning over three decades. Currently retired, John Spencer served as the Senior Manager of Park Planning & Development within the Environment & Development Engineering Division at the City of Brampton from December 2003 until retirement in December 2018. Key achievements include overseeing Brampton's 2017 Parks and Recreation Master Plan and leading the 2014 Development Charges Review, which resulted in the adoption of new by-laws and rates. Prior to working in Brampton, John Spencer was the Manager of Park Planning and Development for the Community Services Department at the City of Mississauga from 1987 to 2003. Educationally, John Spencer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University, obtained between 1982 and 1986.
