General Information 

The City of Burlington provides high quality municipal services to over 51,000 diverse residents. The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government, led by a 5-member City Council, elected at-large on staggered terms.

The City of Burlington is located on the Interstate-40/85 corridor in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont region, neighboring the prestigious Elon University. 

Committed to providing a high quality of life for residents and visitors alike, Burlington is home to high quality shopping centers, countless dining options, and a unique and growing downtown district. Parks, community centers, sporting complexes, marinas, public pools, a golf course, senior activities center, amusement park, and minor league baseball stadium are just some of the recreational amenities provided directly by the City of Burlington.
