Leon Gous has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Leon started their career as a Project Engineer at V3 Consulting Engineers in 1992 and worked there until 1994. From 1994 to 1996, they worked as the Manager of Water and Sewer Utilities at Midrand Municipality. In 1996, they joined Knight Piesold as a Senior Engineer and stayed with the company until 2002. Leon then moved on to work at the City of Vernon, BC, Canada, where they served as the Chief Administrative Officer from 2005 to 2012. In 2012, they joined Fluor as a Project Manager and worked there until 2013.
