Jose Preciado

Jose Preciado is the Chula Vista City Councilman for District 2 and serves as deputy mayor for the City Council in 2023. With over twenty-five years at San Diego State University (SDSU), Jose holds the position of Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies and has served as Secretary of the University Senate. Additionally, Jose has been a steward for Academic Professionals of California since 2011, advocating for Unit 4 employees at SDSU. Previous experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for both the San Diego County Water Authority and Sweetwater Authority, where Jose contributed to water policy for residents in the region. As the owner of Jose R Preciado Consulting, Jose provided political strategy and civic organizing services. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching from SDSU and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies.
