Dante Gonzalez, PhD, is an experienced public health professional currently serving as the Assistant Director of Public Health for the City of Corpus Christi since January 2016. In this role, Dante has developed policies and established goals for multiple public health programs. Prior to this, Dante was a Doctoral Candidate at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where research focused on the behavioral and genetic patterns of addiction, as well as molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease. Dante holds a PhD in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from UT Southwestern Medical Center and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Mary's University. Early career experience includes working as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Shriners Hospitals for Children.
