Mark Hayward has a strong background in human resources and administration. Mark started their career in 1990 as a Personnel Officer in the United States Army. Mark then worked at Wal*Mart Corporation as a Personnel Manager and later as a Regional Personnel Director from 1994 to 1998. In 1999, they joined Stetson University as an Associate Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services. Currently, they are the Director of Human Resources at the City of DeLand, where they have been serving since 2000. In this role, they provide hands-on leadership in human resources to a 350 employee organization, overseeing various departments and serving a population of 80,000 citizens.
