Thomas "TJ" Rogers has extensive experience in communication, community engagement, and program management. Currently serving as the Communications & Engagement Manager for City Council Member Gabriela Santiago-Romero and as the Community & Resident Services Manager for City Council Member Raquel Castañeda-López with the City of Detroit since August 2019, Rogers has effectively managed a constituent casework program and engaged with over 30 community stakeholders. Prior to this role, Rogers was the Development Director and Program Manager at Freedom House Detroit, where significant accomplishments included increasing fundraising revenue, enhancing communications platforms, and leading advocacy efforts for asylum seekers and LGBTQ rights. Rogers' foundational experience in advocacy and operations was further developed through positions with the Summer Institute for Human Rights and Genocide Studies, Canisius College, and as a Sales Associate at Gap Inc. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Canisius University.
