Scott L. Shine, AICP has a diverse work history in community development and planning. Their most recent role is as the Director of Community Development at the City of Durango, which they have held since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Director of Community Development at the same organization from September 2021 to November 2022.
Scott has extensive experience with the City of Durango, having worked there since 2013. Scott L. Shine, AICP completed their Bachelor's degree in an undisclosed field of study at Utah State University, where they attended from 2000 to 2004. Scott L. then pursued a Master's degree in Community and Regional Planning at the University of Oregon from 2005 to 2007. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Shine obtained the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification in October 2008 through the American Planning Association. Furthermore, they received a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from the University of Utah in August 2023.
