Colette Kennedy

Colette Kennedy currently serves as the Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Elgin, IL, a position held since February 2024. Prior to this role, Colette Kennedy worked as an Assistant State's Attorney at the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office from July 2019 to February 2024 and held the position of Chief at the Illinois Attorney General's Office from August 2005 to July 2019. Colette Kennedy began career as an Assistant State's Attorney at the Kane County State's Attorney's Office from September 2002 to July 2005. Colette Kennedy earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Illinois College of Law between 1999 and 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1995 to 1999.
