Jesse Olsen

Jesse Olsen currently serves as the Chair of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission for the City of Emeryville, having been elected to this role in July 2024. Since December 2018, Jesse has also held positions as a Senior GNSS System Test Engineer and Quality Assurance Engineer at Swift Navigation. Additionally, Jesse has been an active volunteer and board member at Biketopia Community Workshop since January 2017. Previous experience includes a role in Location QA at Apple from June 2017 to October 2018, and academic research during a Master's program at Virginia Tech, focusing on fish catches in the Amazon River Basin. Early career experiences involved internships and labor positions at the East Bay Regional Park District. Jesse holds a Master of Science degree in Fish and Wildlife Conservation from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquatic Biology/Limnology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
