Rebecca Sermeno

Rebecca Sermeno has a diverse work experience in the field of community services and recreation. Rebecca currently serves as the Community Services Director at the City of Emeryville, a position they have held since December 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Recreation Supervisor at the same company from April 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining the City of Emeryville, Rebecca worked for the American Red Cross as an Aquatics Examiner from March 2020 to April 2021. Rebecca also served as the Recreation Superintendent at Cordova Rec & Park District from July 2019 to December 2019.

Rebecca's previous experience includes serving as a Recreation Supervisor at the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District from June 2016 to July 2019. Rebecca also worked at the City of Piedmont as a Recreation Supervisor-Sports & Aquatics from June 2013 to June 2016, where they were responsible for program development, staff supervision, and marketing strategies.

Additionally, Rebecca has international experience, having worked as an Open Deck Manager for Royal Caribbean International from February 2010 to December 2012. In this role, they managed the operation of pool decks, sports programs, and retail venues.

Rebecca began their career as a Recreation Coordinator at the City of Newark from January 2004 to November 2009. Rebecca oversaw the daily operations of a year-round facility and managed a large staff.

Throughout their career, Rebecca has gained extensive experience in program development, staff supervision, budget management, and customer service training.

Rebecca Sermeno completed their education history with two notable milestones. From 2020 to 2021, they attended Unitek College, where they pursued a degree in Medical Assistant. Prior to that, they had an extensive educational journey at California State University - East Bay from 1997 to 2018. During this time, they pursued a degree in Recreation, specializing in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies.
