Ethan Nelson has extensive experience in intergovernmental relations and sustainable development, currently serving as the Intergovernmental Relations Officer for the City of Eugene since September 2008, where responsibilities include developing and implementing legislative priorities. Key accomplishments involve serving as a senior advisor on national policy to Mayors Piercy and Vinis and managing various city programs. Previously, Ethan held the position of Waste Prevention and Green Building Manager, leading solid waste regulatory and green building initiatives. Academic credentials include a Master of Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Biology from the same institution. Additional experience encompasses roles in land-use planning management and education as an adjunct instructor.
