John B. King (Buford)

John B. "Buford" King is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in development services and project management. Currently serving as the Development Services Manager for the City of Fairhope since May 2017, King is responsible for reviewing development applications, presenting recommendations to the Planning Commission and Fairhope City Council, and ensuring compliance with zoning regulations. Prior roles include Maintenance Manager at Daphne Utilities and Project Manager for the Baldwin County Commission, where responsibilities encompassed safety training, project management, and federal grant administration. King also held the position of Quality Control Manager at Greenhut Construction. Academically, King holds a Master of Public Administration with a Graduate Minor in Community Planning and multiple degrees in Building Construction from Auburn University, along with an Associate's Degree in Pre-Engineering from James H Faulkner State Community College.
