Tanya Pomeroy Slaughter

Tanya Pomeroy Slaughter is a seasoned Reference Librarian at Grand Prairie Memorial Library since April 2007, where responsibilities include assisting patrons with inquiries, managing the Interlibrary Loan program, planning teen gaming tournaments, and overseeing the selection of various library materials. Prior volunteer experience includes teaching at Saint Luke Catholic Church, where lesson planning and maintaining student rapport were key duties, and serving as a Librarian, where Tanya customized ILS software and drafted library policies. Before their library career, customer service roles at Citigroup and a student assistant position at the University of Dallas contributed to their skill set. Tanya holds degrees in Library Science focused on Youth Services and a concentration in Latin from The University of Dallas. Awards received include multiple "Employee of the Month" recognitions at Grand Prairie Memorial Library.
