David Cook

David Cook is currently the financial systems administrator at the City of Grand Rapids. David has previously worked as a business analyst / project manager at Ottawa County, where they were the lead client-side project manager & BA for a multi-million dollar custom ERP implementation project. David was also the IT service desk lead for released ERP modules and training/support for 1,300 users. In addition, they have experience as a project manager & requirements gatherer for a justice financial project involving county courts, and has been praised for their innovation in actively engaging stakeholders to participate in agile project planning activities. David has also served as the primary liaison between department heads, outside vendors, and technical IT programming staff, and has facilitated interdepartmental change control and issues board, resolving 15-30 issues/month. Prior to their work at Ottawa County, David was an information systems analyst at the Development Authority of the North Country from January 2008 to May 2014. David began their career as a graduate research assistant at the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center from September 2006 to September 2007, and then worked as a natural resources intern at Cliffs Natural Resources from May 2005 to December 2005.

David Cook has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Clarkson University and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Water Resources and Geography from the University of Wyoming. David also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Earth Science & Geographic Information Science from Northern Michigan University. In addition, they are certified by the Ottawa County in Gold Standard Leaders Level 1, the Geographic Information Certification Institute in Geographic Information System Professional, and the Project Management Institute in Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
