James Ouzts is an experienced environmental services professional with a strong background in water resource management. Currently serving as the Environmental Services Department Manager for the City of Grand Rapids since February 2020, James oversees the Water Resource Recovery Facility, biodigesters, natural gas production, struvite production, street lights, industrial pretreatment programs, and stormwater management. Prior to this role, James held various positions at SUEZ in North America, including Lake Michigan Filtration Plant Superintendent and Utilities Field Operations Supervisor, as well as Project Manager roles at both SUEZ and F&V Operations. Earlier experience includes serving as a Regional Manager at Fleis & VandenBrink and as a Water Treatment Specialist for Plainfield Township. James holds an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Montcalm Community College, earned between 2015 and 2017.
