Matt Reid

Matt Reid, M.M., currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Wake Forest University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, teaching courses in jazz and music-related disciplines. Additionally, Matt is a member of the Jazz Piano Faculty at The Music Academy of North Carolina and has been guiding piano students at Guilford College. As the Assistant Director of the Greensboro Big Band, Matt directs community musicians in swing-style performances. With a rich background in law enforcement, including roles as a Sergeant at the Fletcher Police Department and Police Officer at the Asheville Regional Airport Authority, Matt balances a multifaceted career as a professional musician and community manager at Burkely Communities. Matt holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Guilford College.
