Fire Chief at City of Griffin

John Hamilton has over 20 years of experience in the fire service industry. John started their career as an Operations Officer at Griffin Fire Rescue in 1997, where they served for 23 years. In 2020, they became the Fire Chief for the City of Griffin. Additionally, from 2008 to 2019, they worked as a Fire Instructor at Southern Crescent Technical College.

John Hamilton earned their Associate's degree in Fire Science/Firefighting from West Georgia Technical College from 2000 to 2002. John then pursued a Certificate in the Professional Management Program at Columbus State University from 2012 to 2014. Later, from 2013 to 2016, John completed their Master's degree in Public Administration/Disaster Management at American Military University. Although it is known that they attended Gordon State College from 1991 to 1993, their degree and field of study during that time are unspecified.
