Barry Collins

Barry Collins serves as the Battalion Chief of the Operations Division for the Hattiesburg Fire Department, overseeing fire suppression and rescue operations since September 2003. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including RMS administration, grant writing, and project management. Prior positions include Deputy Fire Marshal, Director of Training and Hazardous Materials, and firefighter/EMT/company officer, highlighting extensive experience in firefighting, emergency response, and training development. In addition to fire service, Barry has served as a Patrol Officer for the Collins Police Department since 2012, a freelance editor/writer since 2021, and an adjunct instructor for the Mississippi State Fire Academy since 2016.
