Emily Dean

Emily Dean currently serves as the Director of Advocacy and Communications Specialist at the Montana School Boards Association since October 2017, while also holding the position of Commissioner for the City of Helena, Montana since January 2020. Prior experience includes managing government affairs for Teach For America, where policy strategies were developed to support educational equity. Emily Dean also worked as Communications Director for the State of Montana's Office of the Secretary of State, overseeing press strategies and voter outreach initiatives during the 2016 election cycle. Other roles include teaching at Dallas Independent School District, serving as Student Body President at Carroll College, and holding various positions in government relations and strategic communications. Emily Dean holds a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor's degree in History and International Relations from Carroll College.
