Mike Detoy is an experienced fire service professional and elected official, currently serving as a Fire Captain with the City of Riverside since September 2011. In this role, Detoy oversees various staff and participates in firefighting, rescue operations, and fire prevention activities. Additionally, Detoy serves as a City Council Member for Hermosa Beach, having been elected in November 2019, leveraging a decade of emergency services experience for legislative responsibilities. Active in leadership positions, Detoy is the President of the Riverside City Firefighters Association, a Trustee for the Southern California Firefighters Benefit Trust, and has held various roles in emergency preparedness and clinical education. Detoy holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California Baptist University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.
