Lead Landscape Maintenance Technician at City of Irvine

Tyler Gullickson has a diverse work experience in the landscaping and golf course maintenance industry. Tyler started their career at Coto De Caza Golf & Racquet Club as a Spray Technician and Educational Intern, where they calibrated and sprayed pesticides on the course. Tyler then joined Sherwood Country Club as an Assistant-In-Training, gaining experience in cool season Turfgrass requirements and irrigation system maintenance. Tyler later worked at Mesa Verde Country Club as a Second Assistant Superintendent, responsible for fertilizing and pesticide application, along with communication with members and vendors. Tyler then moved on to Shady Canyon Golf Club as an Assistant Superintendent, where they managed expenses, collaborated on renovation projects, and oversaw course playability. Currently, Tyler is employed by the City of Irvine as the Lead Landscape Maintenance Technician.

Tyler Gullickson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Sciences from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, attending from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, they also hold certifications as a Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture, obtained in June 2019, and as an Agricultural Pest Control Adviser from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
