Gert Meiring

Gert Meiring is a highly experienced town planner with a demonstrated history of working in various capacities within the field of urban and regional planning. Currently serving as Manager: Land Use Management and Specialist: Town Planner for the City of Johannesburg since April 2021, Gert specializes in assessing town planning and land use applications and providing guidance to the public and organizations. Previous roles include Senior Town Planner at Century Property Development and Ideal Consulting Town & Regional Planners, where Gert contributed to development projects and managed staff, as well as Professional Town Planner at Calgro M3 Developments (Pty) Ltd, focusing on township establishment. Early career experience includes a role as Development Economist at Urban-Econ and a research assistant position at North West University. Gert holds a Master of Urban Planning (Cum Laude) and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at North-West University.
