Cathy Ball

Cathy Ball is a seasoned public administration professional with extensive experience in city management, engineering, and public works. Currently serving as the City Manager for the City of Johnson City since December 2021, Cathy previously held various positions at the City of Asheville from May 1997 to December 2022, including Interim City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Public Works Director, and City Engineer. Cathy began a career in public service as the Assistant City Engineer for the City of Greenville from May 1988 to May 1997. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Public Affairs from Western Carolina University (2001-2003) and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University (1983-1987).
