Keyla Garcia

Keyla Garcia has a diverse work experience. Keyla currently holds the role of Financial Director at the City of Kentwood, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2023, they worked at the City of Hudsonville, where they held various roles including Finance Director/Treasurer and Deputy Finance Director. In these roles, they were responsible for a wide range of financial tasks such as cash management, financial reporting, budget development, and debt management. Keyla also served as Acting City Manager and Interim City Manager during their time at the City of Hudsonville. Before their work at the City of Hudsonville, Keyla held positions at the City of East Grand Rapids as Deputy Treasurer and Accounting Clerk. Keyla started their career at the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan as an Accounting Assistant and also worked at Fifth Third Bank as a Lead Customer Service Representative.

Keyla Garcia pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Grand Rapids Community College, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Keyla then continued their studies at the same institution, obtaining another Associate's degree in Accounting from 2013 to 2014.

After that, Keyla attended Ferris State University from 2014 to 2016, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting.

Keyla is a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager, awarded by the Association of Public Treasurers of the US & Canada.
