Alyssa Buffalow

Senior GIS Analyst/programmer at CITY OF KIRKLAND

Alyssa Buffalow has a work experience starting in 2009 as a Planning Intern at the City of Kirkland. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a GIS Analyst at the City of Bellevue, Washington, providing mapping and analysis services to different entities. Alyssa then returned to the City of Kirkland in 2012 and held various roles, including GIS Analyst and Senior GIS Analyst/Programmer. In these positions, they were responsible for project management, system administration, and configuration of the enterprise GIS platform. Alyssa possesses expertise in integrating GIS with business systems and developing applications, scripts, reports, and web maps using Python, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL. Their work also involved data maintenance, quality control, and research for maintaining address databases.

Alyssa Buffalow obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in GIS/Geography/Environmental Science and Resource Management from the University of Washington in 2011. Alyssa then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in GIS from the same university, completing their studies in 2013. In addition to their formal education, Alyssa also holds two certifications: ITIL Foundation Level 4 from PeopleCert, which they obtained in March 2020, and ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from PEOPLECERT, obtained in October 2012.
