Alexis Moore has a diverse work experience in the field of urban planning. Alexis started their career as a Resource Stewardship Planner for the State of Colorado, where they supported the Resource Stewardship Program within Colorado State Parks. Alexis conducted field work, developed GIS maps and databases, and worked with experts and stakeholders to write resource management plans. After that, Alexis worked as an Urban Planner at SAA Design Group, where they contributed to urban planning projects until 2006. In 2006, they joined South Wairarapa District Council as a Planner. During their time there, they gained experience in planning initiatives. In 2007, Alexis joined the City of Lakewood as a Principal Planner, where they managed complex planning initiatives and supported urban design and transportation planning efforts. Alexis was also responsible for writing and managing planning and implementation grants. Currently, they own their own business, Place Planning, LLC, where they continue to contribute to the field of urban planning.
Alexis Moore obtained a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management and Policy, with a minor in Watershed Science and Spanish, at Colorado State University in 1998. In 1996, they participated in a Study Abroad Program in Seville, Spain through UW-Platteville. Alexis Moore also holds additional certifications, including being an AICP Certified Planner since 2007 and a Leadership Arts Program Graduate from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts in 2016.
