Molly O'Donnell

Director, Housing & Community Investment at City of Longmont

Molly O'Donnell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Molly began their career as an Associate Planner at Jones & Stokes in 2005 and then worked as a Land Use/Environmental Planner at the County of San Diego Department of Public Works from 2007 to 2013. During their time there, they managed large-scale road projects, navigated complex environmental requirements, and handled issues related to property acquisitions, environmental justice, wetland impacts, and more.

In 2013, Molly joined the City of Portland Audit Services Division as part of the Management Audit Special Project Team. Molly later served as a Graduate Assistant at Portland State University's Center for Public Service, where they managed operations and conference planning for a non-profit specializing in performance measurement in the public sector.

Molly's entrepreneurial skills led their to start their own fitness business called everyBODYbarre, LLC in 2014. Molly also worked as a Barre Fitness Instructor during that time. In 2015, they served as an Assistant to the City Manager at the City of Carlton, where they completed their Master's Program and assisted the City Manager with various initiatives and projects.

Since 2016, Molly has held positions at the City of Longmont. Molly first served as a CDBG Disaster Recovery Project Manager, managing a $76 million project portfolio for infrastructure and housing programs. Currently, they hold the role of Director, Housing & Community Investment, where they oversee the implementation of federal funding programs, affordable housing initiatives, and the management of affordable housing properties. Molly also leads various programs related to housing compliance, rental development, and voucher administration.

Molly O'Donnell has a Master's Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Local Government from Portland State University, which they obtained with Magna Cum Laude honors in the years 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Business Administration at the University of San Diego from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their academic achievements, Molly has also obtained certifications such as the Envision Sustainability Professional Credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure in February 2018. Molly also holds certifications as a Barre Instructor and Group Fitness Instructor from the American Council on Exercise.
