Elsa Mejía

Elsa Mejía currently serves as a Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Madera since December 2021. With extensive experience in communications, Elsa has been a Communications Specialist at SEIU 521 since October 2018 and previously worked as an Editor for Community Alliance Newspaper from April 2018 to October 2019. Other roles include Community Information Specialist at United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley, where Elsa was promoted from an earlier position, and freelance multimedia journalist. Elsa's earlier experience includes positions as an Analyst at Instituto Oaxaqueño de Atención al Migrante and various roles in journalism and communications at The kNOw Youth Media, La Voz de Aztlán, and The Madera Tribune. Elsa holds a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with a multimedia option and Political Science from California State University, Fresno.
